A Wardrobe Detox | Working from Within

Starting a session by going to a client’s house and getting to know them much better and being able to fully assess and detox their wardrobe is a great place to begin the styling process. It is always so much fun!

Recently I had a request to just do a Wardrobe Detox as the client felt she had so many clothes and loved what she has but keeps adding to her wardrobe and didn’t feel like she needed to as would still struggle to build outfits. We spent the day going through her current wardrobe; we organised, restructured the order into outfit builds so she finds it super easy to grab fabulous outfits in the morning when rushing, played around with styling and took loads of pictures 📸. I created a small document for her so she now knows what to add, which she can do so gradually (timeless pieces which are very specific for her!). LOVED IT.

Working from within is so fun as items which have never been worn, are rarely worn, or are tried on regularly but still never make it out the door and those you have fallen out of love with, can get a WHOLE new lease of life. 👏

An item below you can see still has the tag on which I see A LOT! Often there is a reason it hasn’t been worn, whether an uncertainty of an outfit build around it or it was an impulse buy that isn’t quite right. But we can work around this and give it the best chance of getting loads of use going forward or realising it just won’t work and therefore detoxing it.

Helping the client to visualise outfits and photographing them is crucial as we cover so much during the session!

Being bold with print and colour pairing is always fun and I often hear clients saying ‘I would NEVER have thought to put those together!’ which is always a winner from a session.
